Mata he Moana

Malo e lelei = Hello
Fefe hake? =  How are you?

Greetings from the remotest islands in the world--The Kingdom of Tonga. This is where time begins--the first to see the dawn of each day! Tonga Islands (Kingdom of Tonga) is located in the South Pacific on the International Dateline, below the Equator, above the Tropic of Capricon.  Easier to find if you travel 500 miles south east of the Fiji Islands; east of Australia and north of New Zealand.  The Kingdom of Tonga is made of about 170 islands in all... 46 islands are inhabited. This is the paradise I came from.

Enjoy the cool breeze

Our native languange is Tongan.  It is almost similar to Hawaiian.  Unlike english that have 26 letters in the alphabet and many rules, Tongan have only 16 letters in their alphabet.

        Vowels:  a, e, i , o, u,  apostrophe and/or hyphen on top.
        Consonants:  f, h, k, l, m, n, ng, p, s, t, v

Tongan language is very easy to learn

Education is the highest priority of all Tongan families.  They have the highest level of school enrollment in the South Pacific where 99.6% of the Tongans are literate.

Visit this paradise that nicked named by the explorer Captain Cook , "The Friendly Islands of the South Pacific.  Tonga is  unique in its culture and people.  They are exceptionally warm, relaxed, impassive towards delays, etc.  Their happy contented lifestyle is summed up in expressions like mo'ui fiemalie (a contented life), mo'ui nonga (a peaceful life), nofo fiefia (living happily), and nofo fakalata (making others feel at home)
